WOMEN NEEDED FOR STUDY ON CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH! Help Researchers Learn More About Racial Disparities and High Blood Pressure

Overview

DID YOU KNOW?.... Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death among women in the United States and that CVD is disproportionately higher among racial and ethnic minorities?

That is why researchers in the Department of Kinesiology within the School of Public Health at Indiana University (IU) are conducting a study to evaluate the effects of two dietary interventions (beetroot juice and vitamin C) taken either alone or in combination (together) on blood pressure, health of blood vessels, and inflammation in women who may be at an increased risk of developing hypertension (high blood pressure) later in life.

Your participation will help researchers to identify whether certain dietary factors may explain racial differences in the risk for hypertension.
