Overview
Are you comfortable running for 30 minutes on a treadmill?
Are you comfortable running 8-minute mile pace for just one mile?
JOIN OUR STUDY!
Researchers at Indiana University are looking for healthy volunteers to take part in a study to compare the measurements collected by different commercially-available wearable devices throughout three seven-minute bouts of running on a treadmill.
Participation involves a one-time visit to the IU Biomechanics lab in Bloomington, IN.
Description
We are looking for:
- Adults; 18-48 years of age
- Generally healthy individuals with no injury or medical conditions preventing completion of a single bout of running.
- You must be able to comfortably run for 30 consecutive minutes on the treadmill and able to run one mile at an 8-minute mile pace.
- You must not be experiencing pain, discomfort, light-headedness, or swelling at rest or during exercise.
This study involves:
One visit (approx. 1 hr.) at the the IU Biomechanics Lab in Bloomington, IN. During this visit, if you consent to being a subject in our study, you will --
- Allow us to measure your height and weight.
- Perform three 7-minute bouts of running at three different speeds on a treadmill: 12-minute mile pace, 9 minute and 41 second mile pace, and 8 minute and 13 second mile pace.
- Wear different devices and monitors (Fitbit Inspire, Garmin HRM Tri and Pro, Stryd Pod, Milestone Pod, and Actigraph) during the three bouts of running.
