Dissecting the Genetic and Environmental Contributions of Autoimmune Liver Disease: Genetic Repository of Autoimmune Liver Disease and Contributing Exposures (GRACE)Study

C
Craig Lammert, MD
J
Jessica MacLean
All genders
The overall objective of this proposal is to conduct a systematic approach to dissect both genetic underpinnings and nongenetic factors in the development of adult autoimmune liver diseases including autoimmune hepatitis (AIH), overlap AIH with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (AIH-PBC), overlap AIH with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (AIH-PSC), and drug-induced autoimmune-like hepatitis …

Blood sample collection from PBC patients at Indiana University

C
Craig Lammert, MD
J
Jessica MacLean
18-100 years
All genders
We would like to collect approximately 12 ml of blood from 200 subjects diagnosed with PBC. The blood will be separated into plasma and serum and then placed in aliquots and frozen. The samples will be used in the future for PBC research.

Oral Contraceptive Induced Hepatic Adenomas: Building a Biorepository

C
Craig Lammert, MD
J
Jessica MacLean
Female
This study is being done to find out why some women taking birth control pills develop rare liver tumors called hepatic adenomas.

Blood Sample Collection from PSC Patients at Indiana University

WHY IS THIS STUDY BEING DONE?Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is liver inflammation that occurs when the body’s immune system attacks liver cells. It is caused by an overactive immune system, and it is unknown why this happens. The Autoimmune Hepatitis Association (AIHA) is a not-for-profit organization seeking to develop a patient …

PSC Collaboration Study- PROGRESS

C
Craig Lammert, MD

All genders
Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) is a chronic liver disease that lacks treatment options short of liver transplantation. This is secondary to rarity of the disease and poor understanding of the disease pathogenesis. We are participating in a multi-center study collecting PSC patients clinical and biological information along with genetic analysis …

Randomized Crossover Diet Study Comparing Impact of Mediterranean Diet to Western Diet on Fatigue in Autoimmune Hepatitis Patients

C
Craig Lammert, MD
18-80 years
All genders
Observational
What is this study about? One of the most common symptoms reported by people with autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is fatigue (tiredness and lack of energy).  The impact of fatigue on quality of life is substantial and the role that diet plays in the amount of fatigue is unknown. The purpose of …

Biospecimens of Patients with Cholestatic Liver Disease

C
Craig Lammert, MD
18-85 years
All genders
Observational
The purpose of this study is to create a resource of biospecimens (bodily fluids/samples) from people with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) and to use these samples for current and future research relating to PSC.
