Brief description of study
The aim of this study is to validate the TEG 6S technology in pediatric cardiac patients by comparing its viscoelastic values with those of the standard TEG 5000.
Detailed description of study
The new TEG 6S technology has been validated against the TEG 5000 in adults undergoing cardiac surgery8, however no data exists for pediatric patients.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Cardiac Surgery, Riley

Gender: All
Inclusion Criteria
All patients, less than 18 years of age, presenting for elective cardiac surgery involving cardiopulmonary bypass.
Exclusion Criteria
Patients with known hemostatic disorders
Patients on anticoagulation or antiplatelet therapy not stopped preoperatively
Patients who are wards of the court or in foster care
