Brief description of study
The purpose of this study is to examine whether differences in the way children make and perceive human body movements is associated with their social ability, and perhaps severity of autism spectrum disorder.
Detailed description of study
For this study you and your child will make a one-time visit to our research lab located at the IUPUC campus in Columbus, IN. During your visit, you will complete several surveys about your child's social functioning. Your child will then perform several movements while we record his or her movements with a motion capture camera. The motion capture system converts your child's movements as "point-light displays" which appear as moving white dots against a black background. The results of this study will be used to build a model of movement and social ability .
Parents will receive a $20 gift card for participation.
