Oral Modeling of Early Metabolic Function in Stages 1 & 2 Type 1 Diabetes: a Methods Validation Study
Carmella Evans-Molina, MD
Primary Investigator
Brief description of study
This proposal is a methods validation study to compare oral minimal model assessment calculated at two hours to assessment calculated at the classical three hour time point during an OGTT in youth and young adults with Stages 1 & 2 T1D. We will take additional blood samples at 10, 20, 150, and 180 minute time points from children already undergoing a two hour OGTT as part of another study (TrialNet Pathway to Prevention study protocol #1707303278). We will use these data to validate the two hour oral minimal model, to determine if it can be used in future studies.
