Amy Krambeck, MD
Primary Investigator
Brief description of study
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the success of same day catheter removal in patients undergoing Holmium enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) surgery.
Detailed description of study
Participants will undergo HoLEP in the outpatient setting following the current standard of practice.
In order to increase the success of removing the catheter on the same day as the surgery, participants will not receive any narcotic pain medication or medication to treat bladder spasms. (These are given to prevent spasms associated with the catheter and should not be needed if catheter is removed same day as surgery.)
Information about participants' health and the treatment of their enlarged prostate will be collected before, during and after surgery.
Information about any associated complications of the the surgery and removal of catheter will also be collected.
