Single Cell RNA Sequencing Analyses for Prediction of Lower Extremity Long Bone Fracture Nonunion
Roman Natoli, MD
Primary Investigator
Brief description of study
The purpose of this study is to determine if tissue from inside the bone that is typically discarded can be collected for gene expression analysis.
Detailed description of study
Researchers will ask participants questions about their lifestyle and injury, and review medical records to record anything pertinent to their broken bone surgery.
At the time of surgery, samples of intramedullary canal tissue (tissue from inside the bone) will be obtained and sent to the research laboratory. This is tissue that is usually discarded.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

-
Age: 18 years - 85 years
-
Gender: All
Individuals between 18 and 85 years of age who are undergoing orthopedic surgery where the intramedullary canal of the femur or tibia will be reamed.
