Telehealth Recovery and Resilience Program – Opioid Extension (TRRP-O) in Adolescent and Young Adult Trauma Survivors

Overview

The purpose of this study is to conduct an open trial of a new mobile application that monitors behavioral health recovery following traumatic injury or illness.  The app is being tested in traumatically injured patients (adolescents and young adults), patients hospitalized with a COVID-19 illness, or who have loved ones who were hospitalized due to COVID-19 illness.  This new mobile application is meant to do several things, such as provide education regarding recovering from traumatic injuries and traumatic illness, track mental health symptoms, and promote connections to mental health service utilization, when appropriate.

Description

Participants will complete questionnaires and learn how to use the mobile application during a baseline visit. Participants will be sent daily text message questions and brief, weekly surveys for 2 months using the app.  At 1 month and at 2 months after the initial visit, there will be questionnaires and/or interviews with a member of the study team.
Researchers will contact participants at 3 months and 6 months after the initial visit to discuss their experience using the app. Participants will receive up to $200 in Amazon gift cards over the course of the study.  All study visits are virtual and scheduled at convenient times for participants.
