Brief description of study

The purpose of this study is to learn more about how the use of two different types of telemedicine (distance medical care) can address barriers to receiving comprehensive sickle cell care, and whether care can be improved. 

Detailed description of study

Participants will complete telemedicine visits in a nearby office or from home, and complete surveys following each visit. Participants may also be asked to complete interviews with researchers. Participants will receive a $25 gift card for each interview completed, as well as a $15 gift card for each questionnaire (up to 12 within a 1-2 year period).

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: sickle cell disease, Riley
  • Age: Between 1 Years - 21 Years
  • Gender: All

Patients between 0 and 21 years of age with SCD who receive care at the Riley Hospital for Children Comprehensive Sickle Cell Disease clinic, and their parents/legal guardians.
