Brief description of study
Researchers at the Indiana University School of Dentistry are looking for adults (ages 18-59) to take part in a study on TMD (Temporomandibular Disorder).
Detailed description of study
Who is eligible
- Adults ages 18 -59
- Must be in good general health
- Must have had head, face, neck and/or shoulder pain for longer than 3 months and are not currently being treated for TMD
- Must have had no surgery or been recommended surgical treatment for TMD
- Must not currently wear dentures
- Must not have started orthodontic treatment during the past 3 months
What is involved
- You will attend 8 visits over 6 months at the Oral Health Research Institute on the IUPUI campus
- You will receive the study drug or placebo by injection
- You will answer questionnaires and receive dental exams
Compensation
- You will get paid to attend a screening visit ($25) whether you qualify or not
- You will receive $50 cash for completing each of the seven remaining visits for a total study payment of $375 if you complete the entire study.
