Brief description of study
Black Americans are disproportionately affected by HIV for a number of reasons, including low-quality communication from their doctors. As such, research has stressed the importance of talking about HIV prevention in ways that will be well-received by patients.
Researchers at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) and the Indiana University School of Medicine are looking for Black American adults to take part in a study to gain a better understanding of how patients and doctors talk about HIV prevention.
This study involves a one-time interview that will take place in person on the IUPUI campus or online via Zoom (depending on your preference). Interviews will be audio recorded (and video recorded if they take place over Zoom).
Your participation will help researchers to learn more about different ways of discussing HIV prevention with patients across racial and ethnic backgrounds.
