Brief description of study
ARE YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW A BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR?; We need your help!
Researchers at Purdue University are exploring how relationships and stress affect couples' immune and cardiovascular systems during breast cancer survivorship.
You may be eligible to participate if:
You are 18 years or older.
You or your partner had breast cancer and completed treatment
If participating with a partner, the two of you live together
You/your partner will have completed cancer treatment (except for longer-term hormonal therapies).
PARTICIPANTS WILL BE COMPENSATED FOR THEIR TIME.
Detailed description of study
What is involved if I participate?
A baseline survey followed by a 7-day diary study with short questionnaires on a mobile app. You can complete this portion of the study individually or as a couple.
If participating as a couple, completing one 3-hour study visit together at Purdue University if you live locally, or completing one 1.5-hour virtual study visit together if you do not live locally.
If interested and live locally, wearing a heart rate monitor and collecting blood samples from the convenience of your home.
Will I be compensated?
- If you participate remotely individually, you will receive up to $50.
- If you participate remotely as a couple, you will receive up to $80, totaling $160 per couple.
- If you participate in person and complete all research activities as a couple, you will receive up to $150, totaling $300 per couple.

Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: breast cancer

Age: Between 18 Years - 100 Years

Gender: Female
Inclusion criteria:
- Females, ages 18 and older, who are breast cancer survivors (stage I-IIIA)
- If participating with a partner, the two much live together
- Survivors will have completed cancer treatment (except for longer-term hormonal therapies)
- Remote and in-person options (Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN) available
**Certain medical conditions and medications may exclude you from participating. Study personnel will determine final eligibility during screening.
