Study on Skin Cancer Surgery Margins
Brief description of study
WARNING - THIS IS NOT A REAL STUDY - THIS IS A TEST LISTING ONLY
ANY REFERRAL'S SENT TO THIS LISTING WILL NOT BE RESPONDED TO.
Why is this study being done?
Nutrition is an important part of caring for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). The IU School of Medicine Kidney Research team and Purdue University are creating a list of people with CKD who are interested in learning about research studies on how food and diet affect health.
If you join this list, you may be contacted about different studies that could be a good fit for you.
What does taking part involve?
If you choose to join this study list, you will:
- Answer a few health questions
- Share your contact information
- Give permission for the research team to contact you about future studies
Do I have to take part?
No. Joining this study list is your choice.
- You do not have to join if you do not want to.
- If you decide to join, you can change your mind at any time.
- You may leave the study list whenever you wish.
There is no penalty for choosing not to join or for leaving the list.
Will I be paid?
You will not be paid for being on this study list.
Some studies that use the list may offer payment and/or food. If you are contacted about a study, the research team will explain this to you before you decide whether to take part.
How will my information be protected?
You will only be contacted by someone from the IU School of Medicine or Purdue University. We will do our best to keep your information private and safe. However, we cannot promise complete privacy.
In some cases, the law may require us to share your information. Other groups may also review your research records to make sure the study is done correctly. These groups may include:

- Conditions: Asthma
-
Age: 29 years - 30 years
-
Gender: Female
Inclusion Criteria:
Exclusion Criteria:
This study investigates different excision margins for primary cutaneous melanoma, which is a type of skin cancer. The purpose of this study is to compare 1cm and 2cm wide excision margins to see how they affect treatment outcomes for melanoma patients.
Participants in this study will be randomly assigned to one of two study arms. One arm will receive a 1cm excision margin, and the other arm will receive a 2cm excision margin. Researchers will observe the outcomes to determine which margin size is more effective for treating primary cutaneous melanoma.
- Who can participate: Specific inclusion and exclusion criteria are not provided for this study. Age criteria are not mentioned.
- Study details: Participants will be randomly placed into one of the study arms, receiving either a 1cm or 2cm excision margin during treatment. The study does not involve any investigational medication or placebo.
