Brief description of study
Are you an informal caregiver taking of an adults 50+ living with dementia in your home? We would like to hear from you!
We are researchers at Indiana University who are conducting co-design a robot to enhance the relationships between caregivers and their older adult care recipients. This study has been approved by the Institutional Review Board at Indiana University (#17355).
Detailed description of study
What you’d do:
1. You will be journaling through an online survey with or without the care recipient a 1-week diary related to your daily experience with the care recipient. You and the care recipient will reflect daily experiences with each other. Please note that this information will need to be shared with the researcher. It is expected to take approximately 15 minutes each day to complete the diary. The diary would require recording your voice or taking pictures.
2. Upon completion of the diary, you will join the care recipient online for a robot design workshop. During the 1-hour online workshop, you will choose an imagined scenario and then talk about how to design a robot that would be useful in this scenario. The workshop will be video recorded. Both the caregiver and recipient need to participate in the codesign -- so, if one decides not to continue with the study, the other person will be done participating as well.
Compensation:
After completing the study, the caregiver and recipient will together receive $90 for completing the diary and co-design workshop session.
Thank you!
