Brief description of study

What is this study about?
The proposed project is a non-funded, multi-center study designed to evaluate the characteristics and outcomes of Fontan Associated Liver Disease in Children. We will start collecting data prospectively and retrospectively since January 2020.
 
THIS LONG-TERM REGISTRY STUDY IS ENROLLING BY INVITATION ONLY Potential participants who had a Fontan repair to the heart and have had a liver biopsy will be approached for enrollment by the study team during a standard of care visit at IUH only

Detailed description of study

What will happen during the study?
This study is a long-term registry, meaning that we will collect health information about participants while they are being treated at an IUH facility.  The collected data will then be stored in the registry to help us better understand FALD in children.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: FALD, single ventricle, tricuspid atresia, hypoplastic left heart syndrome
  • Age: 10 years - 20 years
  • Gender: All

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Age 10-20 years old and who underwent Fontan procedure.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Study clinical information absent from electronic medical record.
  • Children with other causes of chronic liver disease.
