Brief description of study
The goal of this study is to examine effectiveness of a new Enhanced Recovery Protocol called Enhanced Recovery in Children (ENRICH-P) for elective GI surgery in pediatric patients with IBD.
Detailed description of study
Participants undergoing elective GI surgery are treated using the ENRICH protocol and complete three questionnaires about their experiences.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Inflammatory Bowel Disease, IBD, Riley

Age: Between 10 Years - 18 Years

Gender: All
Inclusion Criteria:
- Pediatric patients (ages 10-18) undergoing elective gastrointestinal/colorectal procedures for inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are eligible. Pediatric patients and their legal guardian(s) or parent(s) are included in the study.
Exclusion Criteria:
- Children undergoing emergent/urgent GI surgery and patients/families who cannot read and write English or Spanish, as all materials/surveys will be available in English and Spanish only, will be excluded.
