Brief description of study

Researchers are hoping to discover new biomarkers to help doctors accurately locate seizure onset zones. Surgeons could use this knowledge to treat medically refractory epilepsy. This study's goal is to take the first step towards finding these biomarkers by learning more about the molecules and cells of people who have medically refractory epilepsy.

Detailed description of study

Researchers will obtain consent from the patient or guardian before any samples are used in research. Researchers will collect a sample from the tissue removed during surgery. They will collect some health data from participants for 5 years after the surgery.
