Brief description of study
This research aims understand the burden of sarcopenia and its association with hepatic decompensation in patients with cirrhosis caused by NAFLD, in particular post-menopausal women and compare to age matched males with and without type 2 diabetes.
Detailed description of study
Participants will complete one study visit. During the visit, they will complete two questionnaires about health and alcohol consumption, have vital signs taken, undergo a FibroScan (similar to an ultrasound), body composition assessment, physical function tests, blood draw, and an optional MRI.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: NASH Cirrhosis

Age: Between 18 Years - 100 Years

Gender: All
Inclusion Criteria:
- Females who are post-menopausal, as defined as amenorrhea for 12 months
- Male or female willing and able to provide informed consent
- Wing and able to complete the FitCore study
- Diagnosis of or suspected to have NASH cirrhosis
Exclusion Criteria:
- Females who are not post-menopausal
- Unwilling or unable to follow study procedures
- Post-transplant of any organ
- Unwilling or unable to complete the FitCore study
- Claustrophobic or in possession of medical or medical debris residing in the body such that an MRI is contraindicated
