Brief description of study

Assess parent perspectives on infant preventive sleep guidance in (AA/B) families.

Detailed description of study

·       Affective attitude: feelings about the sleep guidance
·       Burden:  perceived effort
·       Ethicality:  fit with value system
·       Coherence:  understanding of the intervention
·       Opportunity costs:  what must be given up to engage in the sleep guidance
·       Perceived effectiveness:  likelihood of tips achieving their purpose
·       Self-efficacy: confidence in ability to perform the sleep guidance successfully

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: sleep, Riley
  • Age: 9 months or below
  • Gender: All

Inclusion Criteria:
  • ·       Self-identify as African American and/or Black
    ·       Primary caregiver to an infant who is:
    o   between the ages of birth up to 9 months
    o   Born at > 35 weeks gestation
    o   Singleton birth
    o   No developmental or chronic medical conditions that would impact sleep
    ·       Resides in the US
