Brief description of study
The overall objective of this study is to increase POCUS documentation quality, utilization, and reimbursement in the adult MICU. To achieve these objectives, we must address the lack of standardized POCUS documentation and poor understanding of the required elements for successful POCUS reimbursement.
Detailed description of study
Determination current
documentation and billing practices in the Adult MICU. A 3-month
preintervention observation period will be initiated to better understand
current POCUS documentation, and billing practices.
Increase stakeholder understanding of the CMS requirements for POCUS billing. A preintervention survey of Pulmonary and Critical Care Physicians, Fellows and Advanced Practice providers will be disseminated electronically to assess knowledge of the requirements for POCUS billing.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Point of Care Ultrasound

Age: Between 18 Years - 100 Years

Gender: All
Inclusion Criteria:ll patients admitted to the Eskenazi Health Medical Intensive care unit who received POCUS from 3/1/2022-9/1/2022.
Exclusion Criteria:
- All patients who received POCUS outside of the Adult MICU
