Brief description of study

The aim of our study is 1) to analyze the level of senescence markers in periodontally healthy and diseased gingival tissue;
2) to analyze the level of senescence markers in periodontal and periimplant diseased gingival tissues and reveal the association between cellular senescence or ageing on progression of periodontal disease and periimplantitis and;
3) to analyze associations between levels of senescence markers and smoking status, body mass index (BMI), diabetes status and kidney disease.

Detailed description of study

To our knowledge, no study has been performed to assess the levels of senescence markers in human gingival periodontal and periimplant tissues. Thus, the aim of our study is 1) to analyze the level of senescence markers in periodontally healthy and diseased gingival tissue; 2) to analyze the level of senescence markers in periodontal and periimplant diseased gingival tissues and reveal the association between cellular senescence or ageing on progression of periodontal disease and periimplantitis and; 3) to analyze associations between levels of senescence markers and smoking status, body mass index (BMI), diabetes status and kidney disease.
