Volunteers Needed for Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Pain and Physical Activity Study
Anthony Kaleth, PhD
Primary Investigator

Brief description of study
Overweight adults (BMI > 25) between the ages of 18 to 65 years.
Detailed description of study
Visit #1: Participants will be asked to complete a series of questionnaires regarding pain, sleep, and physical activity. A brief pain assessment will also be conducted using an algometer, which is a small device used to apply a controlled amount of pressure to a given area of the body. Participants will also be asked to wear an activity monitor during the day and at night for one week.
Visits #2 and #4: Participants will be asked to complete either a walking intervention org intervention. Different assessments will be administered during each intervention to assess levels of fatigue and pain at specific time points.
Visits #3 and #5: Participants will complete a follow-up assessment conducted by phone or e-mail.
Participants will receive a gift card for completing all of the study requirements.
Parking will also be validated for each visit that takes place at IUPUI.
