Brief description of study

What is the purpose of this study?
The purpose of the Ischemic Heart Disease Registry is to collect and store medical information from individuals with the same disease. The aim of this registry is to gather a large pool of information sufficient to determine how outpatient investigations of suspected ischemic heart diseases and emergency treatment of Acute Myocardial Infarction, implementation of standardized guidelines, utilization of laboratory and imaging services affect the recovery of the patient and if it produces beneficial long-term effects.  
 
THIS STUDY IS ENROLLING BY INVITATION ONLY - All patients who have undergone or are referred for stress CMR, CT coronary angiography as well as all STEMI and NSTEMI patients who were admitted and completed treatment at IU Cardiology will be approached for registry enrollment . All outpatients with suspected / confirmed / follow-up IHD will be consented by research coordinator or a cardiologist at the time of clinic visit for registry enrollment for both prospective and/or retrospective information.

Detailed description of study

What will happen during the study?
  • Participants will consent to allow the study team access to their imaging data and records.
  • Patients in this group who consent to inclusion in the registry will be followed annually for up to 10 years.
  • Patients will be contacted by email which will be followed by phone call if there is no email response in 2 weeks. Follow-up information collected from patients will include adverse cardiovascular events such as myocardial infarction, bypass surgery, percutaneous intervention, valve repair or replacement, heart failure, hospitalization for chest pain or heart failure, stroke, transient ischemic attack, peripheral vascular disease, new diagnostic tests and current medications.

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Ischemic Heart Disease
  • Age: 18 years - 100 years
  • Gender: All

Inclusion criteria:
  • Any patient who is presented for evaluation of suspected IHD by imaging (CT/MRI) as well as who is admitted for AMI treatment
