Brief description of study
Why is this study being done?
Our team aims to understand how everyday stressful experiences are related to memory and thinking.
Who can take part?
You may be eligible if you are:
- 65+ years old
- Having trouble with memory or thinking
- Have seen a health provider within the past year
Detailed description of study
What will happen during the study?
This study involves three parts:
1. An assessment with our team to measure your current memory and thinking.
2. A two-week study period where we will ask you to report your stressors on a mobile phone app and wear a smartwatch. We will provide the mobile phone and smartwatch to you.
3. Follow-up assessments about your memory and cognition one year and two years after your initial study participation.
You will receive payment for completing the study tasks.

This study is being conducted by Dr. Evan Jordan at the Indiana University School of Public Health – Bloomington. The study is being funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute on Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS).

Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Memory problems, Memory loss

Age: 65 years - 100 years

Gender: All
Inclusion Criteria:
- Have attended at least one visit to a primary care practice/clinic within the past year
- Ability to provide informed consent
- Available electronic health records data from at least the past year
- Test positive for mild cognitive impairment during the study screening process
Exclusion Criteria:
- Prior diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease or a related dementia
- Evidence of any history of prescription for a cholinesterase inhibitors or memantine
- Has serious mental illness such as bipolar or schizophrenia
- Permanent resident of a nursing facility. We can accept residents of independent living communities.
- Screened as having no cognitive impairment or positive for ADRD in cognitive assessments during the study
