Brief description of study

JOIN the study!

The purpose of this study is to try out a new way of teaching kids and parents ways to relax and sleep skills to see if it helps youth with sleep and well-being.

The study tasks can be completed entirely online (NO in-person visits required).

Who can take part?

Youth (ages 11-13) who are experiencing mild stress symptoms and a parent.  In order to be eligible, parents/caregivers and children must both participate in the research study.

Detailed description of study

What will happen during the study?

  • Parents and youth will answer some questions at three different points during the 4-month program.
  • Parents and youth will attend online training sessions together about ways to relax and sleep skills (1 hour each week for 8 weeks).
  • These training sessions will be fun and include group discussions and a workbook with parent/youth activities.
  • During these group sessions, parents and children will learn how to work together on a child's ways to relax and sleep.

Incentive/compensation

  • Each family (youth and parent pair) will receive up to $200 for completing all of the study requirements.
