BigKIDS study (Biobanking to Investigate the Genomics of KIDney disorderS)
Sushil Gupta
Primary Investigator
Brief description of study
What is the purpose of this study?
The purpose of the BIGKiDs Biobank study is to help discover genomic factors that cause or contribute to kidney disease and related disorders in children. Samples and data will also be shared with other researchers at Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) as well as with researchers at other hospitals, universities, companies, and businesses.
We also hope this research will allow doctors in the future to use genomic information to provide better advice and choose better treatments for their patients. We hope that by taking part in this study and contributing information, samples, and time,
participants will be helping us improve health outcomes for children with kidney disorders in the future.
Detailed description of study
What will happen during the study?
We will collect and store study samples and health information in a repository (data and sample bank) with the hope of finding new ways to detect, treat, prevent or cure kidney diseases and related disorders.
