Brief description of study

What is the purpose of this study?

The purpose of the BIGKiDs Biobank study is to help discover genomic factors that cause or contribute to kidney disease and related disorders in children. Samples and data will also be shared with other researchers at Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) as well as with researchers at other hospitals, universities, companies, and businesses.

We also hope this research will allow doctors in the future to use genomic information to provide better advice and choose better treatments for their patients. We hope that by taking part in this study and contributing information, samples, and time,
participants will be helping us improve health outcomes for children with kidney disorders in the future.

THIS STUDY IS ENROLLING BY INVITATION ONLY - Potential participants with diagnosis of disorders related to the kidney and upper and lower urinary tract will be the focus of the study. may be recruited world-wide by BCH study staff or approved collaborators (including study staff from sites relying on the BCH IRB). We will recruit patients and their accompanying family members who meet eligibility criteria when they are outpatient or inpatient.

Detailed description of study

What will happen during the study?
