Brief description of study
The PACER Lab at Purdue University is looking for volunteers age 18-30 years old for a study on PFAS
and brain activity (PI: Dr. Dan Foti, IRB protocol IRB-2023-1271).
Detailed description of study
What will happen during the study?
Attend one in-person laboratory visit lasting approximately 5-6 hours at the Purdue University Psychological Sciences Building (703 Third St West Lafayette, IN 47907)
Participation involves:
- An on-campus laboratory visit lasting approximately 5-6 hours
- Recording brain activity using EEG
- Completing computer tasks that involve responding quickly to shapes and listening to different tones
- A brief blood draw (~5 mL)
- An interview about your feelings and experiences.
Compensation:
Participants may be paid $20 per hour for their time and may also receive a small monetary bonus on
some study activities.

Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Healthy

Age: 18 years - 30 years

Gender: All
- Ability to provide informed consent
- Fluent in English
- History of serious head injury resulting in loss of consciousness for over 10 minutes
- Self-reported neurological illness, current prescription of psychoactive medication
- Past-year diagnosis of a moderate/severe alcohol or substance-use disorder, and/or lifetime diagnosis of a bipolar or psychotic disorder
