Brief description of study
We are conducting a research study to learn more about experiences with online children book reviews on a family level, both for parents and children between the ages of 11 and 17.
ALL STUDY TASKS CAN BE COMPLETED AT HOME- no in-person visits are required.
Detailed description of study
Study participation involves completing two online interviews and discussing a book with your child.
Interview #1 (15-minutes):
You will select a book category from the following (we will mail you a book via Amazon for you and your child to read before you join the second interview):
- Challenging Stereotypes/Historical Context
- Political Themes/Historical Narratives
- LGBTQ+ Issues
- Cultural Diversity and Self-Identity
Interview #2 (45-minutes):
You will attend a Zoom interview with your child present where you will discuss the book, look at book reviews, and provide your thoughts on the topic.
We will also collect basic demographic information.
Payment/compensation:
You will receive up to $80 ($15 for the initial interview and $65 for the follow-up interview) for completing all of the study requirements.

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

- Primary participant must be over the age of 18 with a child between the ages of 11-17
- The primary participant must be familiar with online reviews
