Beyond the Symptoms: Women's Mental Health and PCOS

Brief description of study
This study is about understanding how women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) take care of their mental health in everyday life. We want to learn about the challenges you face, such as stigma, and the ways you support your well-being.
By sharing your experiences—the challenges and what works—you can help us learn how to better support women’s health and quality of life.
Detailed description of study
Step 1: Screening and Consent (8–10 minutes)
After you review the study information, we’ll ask for your consent to take part.
Step 2: Confirmation Call (2–5 minutes)
If you’re eligible, we’ll give you a quick call to confirm your information.
Step 3: Short Survey (about 5 minutes)
You’ll answer a few questions about yourself and your experiences with PCOS symptoms.
Step 4: Interview (about 60 minutes)
You’ll join a one-hour Zoom interview with a member of our research team. We’ll talk about your experiences living with PCOS, how you care for your mental health, and the strategies or tools that help you.
Total time: About 75–80 minutes
As a thank you for your time, you will receive payment within 3 weeks of completing the interview.
Eligibility of study
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:
- Conditions: Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, PCOS

Age: 18 years - 45 years

Gender: Female
- Individuals who were assigned female at birth, identify as female, and have PCOS (either medically or self-diagnosed) for over 6 months.
- Between the ages of 18-45 years old
- Currently live in the United States
- Are willing to discuss their experiences with PCOS, mental health, and self-care.
