We will establish a Pediatric Diabetes Clinical Research Advisory Board to receive feedback on how diabetes research is conducted, how to share research findings, and sharing experiences on diabetes diagnosis and management along with other lived experiences.  The rationale for our partnership is to share ideas and feedback to better serve teens living with diabetes as researchers and healthcare providers. By doing so, we believe that equitable and inclusive practices can be developed, implemented and disseminated. 

We will convene quarterly board meetings. Data collected from advisory panel meetings will include audio and video recordings (TEAMs or zoom), field notes, and transcriptions. 

Topics might include: -Sharing experiences with diabetes diagnosis and management and other lived experiences. The study research team may ask board members for their thoughts on: - What data we collect for diabetes research -How studies on diabetes are conducted -How to recruit participants and what may make families more likely to join research -How to understand and share research findings -Discussion of patients' with diabetes priorities and how these might affect our research study and future studies.
