Brief description of study

Do you have aphasia? Or do you help care for someone who does?  Researchers want to learn how new AI-made videos could be used for speech practice at home.

We are looking for:

  1. People who have been diagnosed with aphasia
  2. Family members and caregivers who help care for or support someone with aphasia

AI stands for artificial intelligence.  In this study, AI is used to create videos that show a person speaking. We want to hear what you think about these videos.

Your feedback can help us understand how to make these tools useful, safe, and easy to trust.

Detailed description of study

What will I do?

  1. You will take part in one Zoom interview from home or another private place.
  2. The interview takes approx. 60 min.
  3. There are no in-person visits.
  4. Before the interview, we will send you examples of AI-made speech videos and ask what you think about them during the interview

Will the interview be recorded?

Yes. Zoom interviews will be audio and video recorded so the research team can review what was shared.

Will I be paid?

Yes. You will receive compensation after completing the interview.  Fraudulent, duplicate or bot-generated responses will not be paid.

Eligibility of study

You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

  • Conditions: Aphasia
  • Age: 18 years or above
  • Gender: All

Inclusion Criteria:
People with Aphasia who:
  • Are medically stable
  • Have a clinical diagnosis of aphasia
  • Can take part in an interview with communication support
  • Can make their own choice about joining the study
  • Have access to Zoom and can use it

Caregivers who:

  • Are family member or a primary caregiver of someone with aphasia
  • Have access to Zoom and can use it
Exclusion Criteria:
  • There are no additional exclusion criteria beyond the eligibility criteria listed above
