Brief description of study

The purpose of this study is to determine the outcomes of retrograde IMN and ORIF in the treatment of intraarticular distal femur fractures.

THIS STUDY IS ENROLLING BY INVITATION ONLY - All patients who had femur fractures from January 2013 to January 2020 will be identified. Fixation method, medical comorbidities, associated injuries, time to union, complications, need for additional procedures and functional scores will be recorded and compared.

Detailed description of study

This study will determine the outcomes of retrograde IMN and ORIF in the treatment of intraarticular distal femur fractures. We will perform a retrospective review of radiographs and clinical charts of patients who underwent surgical treatment of intraarticular distal femur fracture from January 2013 to January 2020. Patients will be placed into either the IMN or ORIF group and outcomes will be compared. Time to union, complications and clinical outcome scores will be evaluated between the two groups. The specific aim is compare the results of treatment of distal femur intraarticular fractures between IMN and ORIF. Any patients who have incomplete follow up in their medical record will be contacted via telephone to see if they are interested in helping with our project and if so, they will be asked the same questions they are asked at every clinic appointment in our office.

Eligibility of study
