Overview
ARE YOU PREGNANT? - If yes, consider joining our study!
Researchers at Indiana University School of Medicine are looking for expecting mothers to volunteer to take part in a study looking to improve outcomes in mothers who have taken opioids during pregnancy and their newborn babies, Researchers also want to learn about the reasons mothers take opioids, the things that affect their treatment, and want to learn if there are any long-term effects on the newborn babies, compared to babies whose mothers did not take opioids during pregnancy.
Description
What is Involved
Participants will be asked too attend study visits during their pregnancy and will be followed for 2 years after delivery of child.
Study visits will include the following:
· Obtain medical history
· Questionnaires
· Collection of blood samples
· Collection of blood samples from infant (heel stick) during delivery
· MRI of Brain for Adult - Once & Optional
· Fetal/Placental MRI- Once & Optional
· MRI of Infant - Twice & Optional
· Child Developmental Follow up assessments
Compensation
Up to $535 is available based on completion of study activities
Pregnant women with opioid use disorder:
Inclusion criteria
1. Age > 18yrs
2. Currently taking buprenorphine or methadone for Opioid Use Disorder and enrolled in prenatal opioid maintenance program in the antenatal clinic
3. Singleton Pregnancy
4. Planned delivery at an IU Health or Eskenazi Hospital
Healthy pregnant women:
Inclusion Criteria:
1. Woman >18yrs of age with a healthy singleton pregnancy
Eligibility
You may be eligible for this study if you meet the following criteria:

Conditions:
neonatal abstinence syndrome,pregnancy,medication assisted treatment,addiction

Age: Between 18 Years - 100 Years

Gender: Female
Pregnant women with opioid use disorder:
Inclusion criteria
1. Age > 18yrs
